Traditional Supported Employment Services (SEMP) provide the ongoing support services that are necessary to obtain and maintain an individual with an I/DD in integrated community employment. Traditional Supported Employment Services are for individuals who are ready to work at a job in their community. SEMP is provided both in the intensive services phase and the extended services phase:

The intensive phase of SEMP includes: Intake, Pre-employment assessment, job development and job placement. Intensive coaching support is provided until the person can function independently at the worksite, at which time they enter Extended SEMP.
Extended SEMP: Once the person is independent at the worksite ongoing support services are provide as needed to support and maintain the individual at their work site throughout the duration of their employment.
