Employment Training Program (ETP)

Employment Training Program is for individuals who are ready to work but need more supports than typically provided through traditional Supported Employment to be successful.  ETP offers individuals an opportunity to work in an internship that will lead to permanent employment in a community business.  During the internship, wages are paid through ETP while the individual learns the skills needed for the job. People enrolled in ETP also attend job readiness classes that present topics such as conflict resolution and how to dress for work. Services include enhanced job coaching to help the person be successful at work as well as assistance with other employability skills. Once a person can perform their job at the established industry standard they become an employee of the company and are moved into extended supported employment services.  ETP is an Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Waiver funded program.
