The Pathway to Employment (PTE) Program is structured for new graduates and individuals with an I/DD, who lack experience in employment and/or in areas of the community. Through PTE, individuals are evaluated by their ability to adapt and learn in new environments, their likes & dislikes, and who they are as a person. PTE is a pre-employment service that offers a customized assessment and discovery process, coupled with three (3) unpaid internships to help each individual identify a career or vocational direction.
PTE Service Coordinators develop a strategic plan that caters to each individual's desire for achieving competitive & integrated employment. Included in these plans are training in job readiness skills and work exploration.
Within 12-months, the Center's Pathway to Employment Service will help individuals crystalize their career objectives and develop a personalized career plan. This plan will be utilized to help guide each individual's future employment supports, as well as prepare them for Traditional Supported Employment Services (SEMP).
*PTE is an Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Waiver funded program.
